GLENS FALLS — Four movies filmed regionally, including one with former "Saved by the Bell" TV actor Dustin Diamond, will be shown at the Park Theater starting at 6 p.m. Thursday. All are shorts, in the 15- to 30-minute range.
The movie featuring Diamond, who will be at the screening, is titled "Catching Up" and is directed by Shane Alden of New Light Media Films in Hoosick Falls. It tells the story of a teenage girl who follows in the footsteps of the mother who abandoned her to go into to the music business. After its Glens Falls premiere, "Catching Up" will be submitted to Amazon for inclusion in its film library, where Alden's previous movie, the 2018 title "For the Right Reasons," is already available for streaming.
Thursday's red-carpet premiere for "Catching Up" will also include showings of the short films "La Transazione (The Transaction)" and "Dementia" and the first episode of the second season of the online series "Welcome Home." All were shot regionally, in locations from Kingston to Lake George, according to "Catching Up" co-producer Chris Gaunt, who also acts in the movie.
Tickets are $13, available online in advance or at the door if not sold out beforehand.
The Park Theater is at 14 Park St.
Diamond, now 42, played the character Screech for 13 years in various incarnations of the "Saved by the Bell" franchise, ending in 2000.
